Cabinet makers make furniture, window and door frames, office interiors, restaurant and hotel fittings etc. They make very intricate furniture and are as much artist as handworker. Modern appliances have taken much of the arduousness from the work, and enables work to be completed much quicker than in olden days. In construction work, some work is done in the workshop and then completed on site. They use veneers and other specialised finishes to beautify and protect their work. Modern workers use other materials, such as plastics and light metals, as well as wood.
