Thermal insulation engineers work on large industrial projects, hospitals, office blocks and similar locations. They also work on board of ships. Sometimes their work is to keep heat in, and sometimes it is to keep heat out. They work in varying locations, so they must be prepared to travel: often it is necessary to work at heights, at varying temperatures and in uncomfortable conditions — an installation engineer must be ready for such situations. The average working week is 38 hours, but sometimes overtime is necessary.
