Train driver

Description / Description
In former times, this was what every little boy was supposed to want to be when he grew up. Times have changed, and now little boys want to grow up to be pop stars, but trains still need to have train drivers. Train drivers work to a strict safety and security procedure, and they must be thoroughly aware of all the details relating to the route they are travelling and be continually alert to see signals and hazards such as obstructions or people on the track. Smaller trains are nowadays often run only with a driver, but bigger trains on longer journeys will have service personnel also. The driver's first responsibility is the safety of the passengers, which overrules strict adherence to a timetable.
