Landscape gardeners build, plant and tend gardens, greens, play- and sports-grounds of all kinds. They use diverse machines for their various tasks. They work outdoors all year round. They need to know how to lay out paths and places/squares, as well as to construct stairs and walls, and also artificial ponds for water plants. For planting and tending the grass or plants, they must have a good knowledge of the correct soil chemistry, type of soil, and which site is best for each growth, and much else besides. Landscape gardeners can specialise according to their personal interests and capabilities. Good physical fitness is indispensable.
