Riding instructors teach people in the art of horse riding: they are also involved in the training of the horses, too. According to their own qualifications, they teach at all levels from children to people who ride horses competitively or professionally. Good communication skills and competence at dealing with people and horses is needed: careful consideration will also be needed in the working out of a training programme to suit each individual's needs. Work training horses sometimes requires special equipment, and also requires special safety measures to be taken. They may also be involved with training assistant instructors and other people working at the stables.
