Description / Description
Countryside/conservation officers are responsible for the management, protection and development of the countryside. Their job is also to promote awareness of the environment and to encourage visitors to the countryside. The normal working week is 40 hours, but weekend work, evenings and overtime are often necessary. In the summer, it is often necessary to start work at an early hour. They must also usually do quite a lot of travelling, for instance to different areas of the countryside and for meetings and to attend education and community projects, so a driving licence is usually a necessity.
