Forest Worker / Ranger

Forest Worker / Ranger
Description / Description
The forest worker is concerned with the upkeep of woodlands. The work involves using heavy machinery and hand tools. The work is quite demanding, often requiring much exertion such as when clearing undergrowth or pruning and felling trees. Their duties also include fire prevention measures, and equipment maintenance, which is usually carried out in periods of inclement weather: other work is carried out when the weather is more favourable. Replantation of trees and the protection of birds and animals living in the forest, as well as protecting the forest from the worst ravages of human visitors is all part of the forester’s work.
