Metal Worker

The minimum qualification at 16 or 17 is a good general education.
Good (colour) vision and sense of touch to see any faults in the metal to be worked. An ability to imagine a 3-dimensional article resulting from a flat plate, pleasure in working with metal and constructing are important as well as a good physical constitution and a head for heights.
Usually a successful applicant for this work would have 3 or more GCSEs/S grades or GNVQ/GSVQs.
