This job involves removal of old and fitting of new exhaust systems and tyres on vehicles. The work is often carried out in a garage that specialises in quick fitting of exhausts, tyres and brake shoes. Usually the workplace has various specialist machines to assist in the removal and replacement of tyres, but removal and replacing of exhausts is done manually. Usually this work is done on a while-you-wait basis in the case of private vehicles. Lorries, passenger vehicles and other large vehicles are serviced in speciality garages as the 'Quick fit' establishments are not usually capable of handling large vehicles.
