Painters and decorators work on the inside and outside of buildings and other structures such as bridges, ships etc. Their work may be for protective or decorative purposes and may involve covering large areas or smaller and more intricate applications. Before applying the finishing material, the surface to be covered must be prepared. They use a variety of instruments, such as brushes and sprayers for paintwork: also a variety of materials, such as paints, varnishes, wallpapers and other coverings.
