Tailor / Dressmaker
They are involved in all stages of making the clothes. They take the measurements of the client, construct the pattern, calculate the amount of cloth necessary, cut out the parts and then tack them together. Then comes the fitting stage when the client wears the clothes and small corrections are made as necessary. They are skilful at enhancing the best features of a customer’s figure, and covering up any minor imperfections. They use many different materials, both natural and man-made, and must be familiar with the different textures and advantages and disadvantages of each cloth.
