The work of a journalist can cover many areas of the media. They can work for a newspaper, magazine, a radio or television station, a news agency or a book publisher: they can also do freelance work. The work can be either in an office or can involve much travelling. The work can often be hectic and involve working to deadlines. Much of the work on a newspaper entails careful checking of the facts, but there are times when the work is very stimulating and exciting and gives much satisfaction. Work in a magazine or book publisher tends to be rather longer-term and not so frenetic. Radio and television work covers the whole spectrum, and is possibly the most difficult.
