Road Construction Operative

Road Construction Operative
Description / Description
Our roads and streets must be continually maintained and new ones built. Before the work begins, the site is surveyed, plans are drawn up and then the area is marked out. Firstly the foundation work is done, including the installation or repair of the various service installations that often run under or beside roadways, such as sewerage systems, electricity, water, gas, or telephone lines, etc. At the final stage, the surface is laid, either asphalt or concrete. This work is often done with automatic surface layers where large stretches are to be laid. Work is done in nearly all weathers, so fitness and good health is to be desired.
