Warehouse managers are responsible for planning all the deliveries in and out of the warehouse, and allocating the necessary space, usually using a computerised warehouse management system. They are in control of the security and financial efficiency of the running of the warehouse. Stock accounting and quality control, together with the necessary paperwork must also be taken care of. They must also look after the fixtures and fittings in the warehouse, and arrange for maintenance work and repair when necessary. They are also responsible for safety and insuring that fire prevention procedures are carried out.
