Editors are part of the post-production team in television or film work. They also work in the creation of advertising spots. Their job is to ensure that each scene follows the one before without showing the joins, as it were. In this work they rely heavily on the continuity assistants, whose job it is to ensure that when a scene cuts to a different angle that the actors and props remain in the same pose and position. They work together in close collaboration with the director, who will make the final decisions. The soundtrack and music will also be checked to make sure that it is synchronised properly with the action.
