Nail technicians apply nail extensions and false to a person’s hands. They may also decorate the nails in a variety of ways. First the customer’s hands are checked for signs of disease. If everything is ok, a full consultation with the customer follows that includes discussing how the customer would like the nails to be decorated and the aftercare to prevent infection and to make the nail extensions last as long as possible. The details of the consultation are recorded on the customer’s record card. After a manicure, the nails are decorated or the nail extensions (of which there are several types) are applied. Hygiene is very important, and all the tools must be used correctly and the chemicals used must be properly stored: the salon should also be well ventilated.
