Horticultural work includes the production of young plants (propagation), tending the growing plants (husbandry) and the harvesting of the fruit or vegetables produced. This work can be either full-time, part-time, or on a casual basis - for instance at harvest time when extra help is necessary to complete the work in the time available. The work can vary from being physically very demanding to being very delicate work, such as when pruning, picking out or grafting. Work is outdoors in all weathers, or in greenhouses where it can be often hot and humid.
