Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinary Surgeon
Description / Description
Veterinary surgeons mostly work in a practice, either one for farm animals or for small animals, or in a mixed practice or in an animal clinic. If they are charged with farm animals such as cows, cattle, sheep, pigs and horses, they work together with the farmers. According to the given illness they take precautions to avoid epidemics. Their treatment must always agree with the profitability of the breeding; if a complicated treatment were necessary to save the animal it is usually slaughtered. This is completely different in the practice for small animals. There the veterinary surgeons treat pets whom their owners have grown very attached to. Their first priority is to save the lives of the animals even if complicated operations are necessary. In a mixed practice, veterinary surgeons treat pets as well as farm animals.
